UPDATES TO VOLUME 3, RESTRICTED MATERIALS AND PERMITTING, PESTICIDE USE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM STANDARDS COMPENDIUM

 

This letter announces the availability of, and summarizes updates to, Volume 3, Restricted Materials and Permitting, one of eight volumes of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Updates are enclosed and are also available online at the link provided below. Please have your staff begin using these updates as soon as possible. Hard copies of the updates will not be distributed.

To print the revised portions of the manual, select from the enclosures or go to www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_3/rstrct_mat.htm. It is recommended the sections be printed back-to-back, where applicable. Remove the old sections from the manual and insert the new sections:

  • PUE Program Standards Compendium Overview
    • Added message from Director Mary-Ann Warmerdam
  • Chapter 5, Permits and Exemptions, page 5-3:
    • Rewrote the text from Non-restricted permits and conditions for clarification.
  • Chapter 6, Section 6.2, Agricultural Use Restricted Materials Permit Requirements, page 6-6:
    • Under "Agricultural use" defined, updated reference to Agricultural and Non- Agricultural Pest Control Use.
  • Chapter 6, Section 6.3, Non-Agricultural Use Restricted Materials Permit Requirements, page 6-9:
    • Under "Non-agricultural use" defined, updated reference to Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Pest Control Use.
    • Under Restricted materials permit application requirements, second paragraph, removed incorrect reference to certified private applicators and replaced with correct example.
  • Appendix B, California Restricted Materials Requirements:
    • Strikethrough Molinate (Ordram).U.S. EPA issued Molinate; Product Cancellation Order and Amendment to Terminate Uses which had the stop use date of August 31, 2009; Molinate (Ordram) will be deleted from this listing after the regulation change occurs. Also updated Tributyltin to reflect the information contained in Title 3, California Code of Regulations section 6400.
  • Appendix C, Section C.2, Recommended Permit Conditions for Rice Pesticides, pages C-1 through C-26:
    • Deleted references to Molinate (Ordram). U.S. EPA issued Molinate; Product Cancellation Order and Amendment to Terminate Uses which had the stop use date of August 31, 2009.
  • Appendix C, Part 7.1.1, Use Limitations, page C-1091 :
    • Removed reference to California Data Management Systems, Inc, (CDMS) as the only approved registrant's agent for monitoring 1,3-D use in California.
  • Appendix F, Additional Web Resources2 , page F-1:
    • Updated link to DPR-197, Forms Requisition
