UPDATES TO VOLUME 3, RESTRICTED MATERIALS AND PERMITTING, PESTICIDE USE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM STANDARDS COMPENDIUM
 

This letter announces the availability of, and summarizes updates to, Volume 3, Restricted Materials and Permitting, one of eight volumes of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium. Updates are enclosed and are also available online at the link provided below. Please have your staff begin using these updates as soon as possible. Hard copies of the updates will not be distributed.

To print the revised portions of the manual, select from the enclosures or go to http://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/enforce/compend/vol_3/rstrct_mat.htm. It is recommended the sections be printed back-to-back, where applicable. For best results, print each chapter and appendix separately. Remove the old sections from the manual and insert the new sections:

  • PUE Program Standards Compendium Overview
    • Revised the format of the Overview and page numbering style
  • Table of Contents
    • Added Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium Overview and new section to Appendix G, Volatile Organic Compounds
  • Chapter 6, Section 6.2, added the new block, Pest control businesses required to have a recommendation, to page 6-7.
  • Appendix B, California Restricted Materials Requirements Chart:
    • Added Methyl iodide
    • Returned Molinate (Ordram) to alphabetical order.
  • Appendix C, Department of Pesticide Regulation Recommended Permit Conditions
    • Section C.1, Boom pressure corrected to reflect current regulations.
    • Section C.2, Updated title and topics to subsection 2.5
    • Section C.2, Subsection C.2.5, pages C-20, C-21, and C-22, Expanded the Suggested Permit Conditions for Phenoxy/Dicamba to include any non-orchard sites and added specific equipment and wind limitations; and page numbering.
    • Section C.7, Subsection C.7.2, changed the title to Metam Sodium, Metam Potassium, and Dazomet Recommended Permit Conditions.
      • (Inadvertently omitted from previous update.)
  • Appendix F, Additional Web Resources
    • Updated web address for California Restricted Materials Requirements Chart (DPR-ENF-013A)
    • Added three new links to topics: Enforcement Branch Headquarters and Regional Offices map, Methods Allowed Under Field Fumigant Regulations, and U.S. EPA Restricted and Canceled Uses
  • Appendix G, Volatile Organic Compounds
    • Added Field Fumigation Methods (FFM), FFM Codes for Pesticide Use Reporting, and Emission Ratings
