Label Products for Counties Using the RMPP Program

Description

These files, eparegno.exe and prodsi.exe, are to used to update labels for DPR’s RMPP DataFlex Permit/Use programs.

To download a file to your hard drive or to a floppy drive, click on the file name. In the “Save As” dialog box select the drive and directory location where the file should be saved.

Updating Permit/Use Label Databases

These instructions are for updating your label databases. Do not allow anyone to use the agricultural use or monthly summary use programs while doing the following steps.

1.   Copy eparegno.exe and prodsi.exe to your RMPP directory.

2.   Extract the label files.

At the dos prompt in the RMPP directory type:

eparegno

This will extract eparegno.dat from eparegno.exe. Probably a message will appear on the screen: "Warning! eparegno.dat already exists. Overwrite (Y/N)?"

Choose "Y"

Next, type:

prodsi

This will extract prodsi.dat from prodsi.exe. Probably a message will appear on the screen: "Warning! prodsi.dat already exists. Overwrite (Y/N)?"

Choose "Y"

3.   Index the label files.

DataFlex 23b users

In the RMPP directory type:

DFINDEX 3 <return>

This will index the eparengo.dat file that contains the label data.

Next, type:

DFINDEX 4 <return>

This will index the prodsi.dat file that contains the product site lookup table.

DataFlex 32 users

Note: The label files are in the 23b format but will work in DataFlex 32 without being converted.

At the dos prompt in the RMPP directory type:

SETPATH <Return>

DFSORT 3 <Return>

This will index the eparengo.dat file that contains the label data.

Next, type:

DFSORT 4 <return>

This will index the prodsi.dat file that contains the product site lookup table.

4.   Determine the number of records for the two label files.

DataFlex 23b users

In the RMPP directory type:

DFQUERY 3 <Enter>

The number of records for the California Reg. Pesticides will be displayed. Check that it is the same number listed in Download Help. If it is not the same, the new database has not been successfully installed. Please try the steps again or call for help.

Press ESC twice to exit.

Next, type:

DFQUERY 4 <Enter>

The number of records for the Product Site Lookup will be displayed. Check that it is the same number listed in Download Help. If it is not the same, the new database has not been successfully installed. Please try the steps again or call for help.

Press ESC twice to exit.

DataFlex 32 users

In the RMPP directory type:

SETPATH <Enter>

DFFILE 3 <Enter>

Press ALT-3

This will give a box with information including the number of records for the California Reg. Pesticides will be displayed. Check that it is the same number listed in Download Help. If it is not the same, the new database has not been successfully installed. Please try the steps again or call for help.

Press ESC three times to exit.

Next, type:

DFFILE 4 <Enter>

Press ALT-3

This will give a box with information including the number of records for the Product Site Lookup Table will be displayed. Check that it is the same number listed in Download Help. If it is not the same, the new database has not been successfully installed. Please try the steps again or call for help.

Press ESC three times to exit.

5.    If your county is still entering or editing agricultural use data for the previous year, repeat the above steps in that directory (for example in RMPP02).
