Speakers include DPR Director Val Dolcini, who oversees all DPR programs; DPR Senior Environmental Scientist Peggy Byerly, on enforcing pesticide laws to protect pollinators; California Food and Agriculture Bee Safe Program Environmental Scientist Patricia Bohls, on working with California agricultural producers to protect bees; San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner Tim Pelican, on enforcing regulations and ensuring hive registration; and Pollinator Partnership Director of Program and Operations Kelly Rourke, who manages the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC), National Pollinator Week, www.pollinator.org, and P2 grants and scholarships.

Kramer, an IPM Innovator Award winner, will discuss how the tour educates participants about reducing pesticide use, planting for pollinators and beneficial insects, and conserving water.

The Department of Pesticide Regulation's Human Health Assessment Branch manages the risk-assessment process (hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment and risk characterization), with environmental fate reviews by the Environmental Monitoring Branch and supporting information from other branches.

The Department of Pesticide Regulation's (DPR) Surface Water Protection Program protects human health and the environment by preventing pesticides from adversely affecting our surface waters, by addressing both agricultural and nonagricultural sources of pesticide residues in surface waters. At this special presentation, environmental scientists Yuzhou Luo, Robert Budd and Michael Ensminger provided updates on recent findings in urban waterways.
