Urban Pest Management Working Group
In early 2007, DPR formed the Urban Pest Management Working Group to address pesticide problems associated with pesticide use in the State’s rapidly expanding urban areas, including pesticide runoff into creeks and streams. The Department’s Pest Management Advisory Committee had recommended forming this study group to focus on urban pesticide use. It included leaders in urban pest management, water quality experts, and representatives from government, academia, industry and environmental groups. They developed creative recommendations on how DPR could leverage its resources to solve urban pesticide use problems.
