This informal, online bulletin from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) appears periodically. Our goal is to keep interested parties up to date on practical information, regulatory developments, and other announcements.

The list was updated July 1, 2011.

2011-2012 SCHOOL IPM RECORDKEEPING CALENDAR POSTED
The calendar features helpful pest management information from the University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program, IPM practitioners and DPR staff.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR SCHOOL IPM WORKSHOPS
Workshops scheduled in Millbrae (Aug. 9) and Norwalk (Oct. 5). For those who like to sign up early, workshops are scheduled early next year in Tulare, Chico and Carlsbad.

PRIORITIZATION OF PESTICIDE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS FOR RISK ASSESSMENT ANNOUNCED
DPR has identified three active ingredients as high priorities for risk assessments based on possible adverse effects: cyflufenamid, fluazinam and prothioconazole.

NEW FLOWCHART OUTLINES PESTICIDE EVALUATION PROCESS
Specific actions are identified that can affect a pesticide active ingredient or product as it moves through the process.

APCAC MEETING SCHEDULED
Our Agricultural Pest Control Advisory Committee will meet on Friday, Aug. 19 at 9:30 a.m. in Sacramento. Agenda items include activities involving the University of California Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program and an update on licensing issues.
