Mary-Ann Warmerdam
Director
Mary-Ann Warmerdam was appointed as Director of the Department of Pesticide Regulation on September 7, 2004 by Governor Schwarzenegger.
Prior to joining DPR, Ms. Warmerdam served as a Manager of State Governmental Relations for the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, where her responsibilities included watershed and hydroelectric issues. In 2004, she served as a member of the in-house team that negotiated the transfer of 140,000 acres of PG&E-owned forests, fishing streams, and hunting areas into public trust lands.
In 2003, she was Director of Governmental Affairs for the Regional Council of Rural Counties, where she focused on natural resources issues. From 2001 to 2002, she served as General Manager of Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation.
The district manages two small hydroelectric plants, a reservoir, and more than 150 miles of canals and water management facilities in Yolo County.
From 1981 to 2001, she served in various capacities with the California Farm Bureau Federation, including Administrative Director and Director of Natural Resources. Her responsibilities included day-to-day management of state legislative activities, as well as legislation and policy oversight.
Born in Los Angeles County, Ms. Warmerdam grew up in Hanford, Kings County. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fresno, and a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Stanislaus.
A resident of Yolo County, Ms. Warmerdam serves on the board of directors of the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation. She also serves as a director of the Cache Creek Conservancy, and is a member of the Woodland Opera House Guild.
Christopher Reardon
Chief Deputy Director
Christopher Reardon was appointed as Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) on February 1, 2008, by Governor Schwarzenegger. Before his appointment, he served as DPR’s Director of Legislation and Regulations (appointed by Governor Gray Davis in 2003).
Before joining DPR, he was Executive Director for the Manufacturer’s Council of the Central Valley. He also spent time in the Legislature as Chief of Staff for Assembly Member Sal Cannella, and also worked for Assembly Member Jim Costa.
Mr. Reardon, a native New Yorker, came to California in 1983 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the California State University at Stanislaus.
