Section 18 Emergency Exemptions
Back to Pesticide Registration
Section 18 of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) authorizes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) to allow a federal or state agency the ability to grant the use of a pesticide product without registration, if an emergency condition exists. The issuance of a Section 18 emergency exemption is not the same as the issuance of a product license. The following links provide information about how to request a Section 18 emergency exemption from DPR and a listing of currently active Section 18 emergency exemptions in California.
