About the Parlier Local Advisory Group

Back to Environmental Justice Pilot Project

The Parlier Local Advisory Group (LAG) was formed to advise DPR on the air monitoring project it conducted in Parlier, in Fresno County, in 2006. The project was one of several environmental justice pilot projects sponsored by the California Environmental Protection Agency. Although the LAG was not a decision-making group, its views had significant influence on how the project was conducted.

After monitoring concluded in 2006, LAG members, in consultation with DPR staff, decided that no further meetings were needed. Members were sent the draft of the final evaluative report for review and comment before it was released in late 2009.
