Background
For the research or commercial production of an agricultural plant commodity- Pesticide handlers must receive pesticide safety training before they handle pesticides and
- Field workers must receive pesticide safety training before they enter a treated field.
Persons that complete an instructor-training program are authorized by DPR to instruct others on how to train
- Pesticide handler trainers; and
- Field worker trainers.
Criteria for an instructor-training program
The criteria that DPR established for these instructor-training programs can be found in Enforcement Letter 95-033, June 8, 1995. A copy of the letter can be requested from the Pesticide Enforcement Branch.
