New Continuing Education Sponsor Resources
Continuing education (CE) is part of California’s requirements for the professional licensing of pest control advisers and applicators.
The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) recently updated online resources for CE sponsors to provide additional guidance on the CE course application process. These updates are intended to streamline the review and approval of educational opportunities and reduce the need for correspondence between applicants and DPR, which can delay CE course approval.
These resources include:
- A new CE Course Information and Guidance document which provides sponsors with clarification and best practices when submitting a CE course application for review and approval.
- A new Detailed Time-Specific Outline Template and Example that sponsors can use to submit main points of CE topics and provide a detailed description on how a topic is in the context of pesticides and/or pest management.
- New CE course application packets for In-Person, Webinar, and Interactive Online CE courses that include required forms, instructions, and templates.
- An updated CE Example Topics List that includes example topics and concepts that could be approved by DPR for CE hours.
- Updated CE course agenda and syllabus templates that contain four pages for sponsors to easily include up to 12 presentation topics or learning objectives.
DPR is also developing short informational videos for CE sponsors to help streamline application processes. These videos will be available in the coming months through DPR’s Continuing Education webpage.
