Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) and U.S. EPA Ecological Mitigation Measures Training
The Department of Pesticide Regulation will be conducting virtual training sessions on “The Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) and U.S. EPA’s Ecological Mitigation Measures”. The training is intended for all County Agricultural Commissioner (CAC) Pesticide Use Enforcement (PUE) staff conducting or reviewing pesticide application inspections. The training will take place via Zoom the first two weeks of May 2026 and cover:
- Overview of the ESA and the law’s impact on pesticide use
- Use of U.S. EPA’s Bulletins Live! Two (BLT) tool
- Overview of the spray drift and runoff/erosion mitigation measures from U.S. EPA’s Herbicide and Insecticide Strategies
- Use of U.S. EPA’s Pesticide App for Label Mitigations (PALM) tool to calculate final required mitigation measures

Registration information should be submitted by the PUE supervisor/deputy or other CAC management representative. Please complete this registration survey and submit by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026.
2026 Endangered Species Act (ESA) Training
Attendance at each virtual training session may be limited. Please nominate staff in order of attendance priority. Following the closure of the survey, DPR will inform the CAC contact who completed the registration which staff are registered to attend and their assigned session.

- Friday, May 8, 2026 (8:30AM-12:30PM)

- Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (8:30AM-12:30PM)
- Thursday, May 14, 2026 (8:30AM-12:30PM)
