SUBJECT:

REFORMATTING COMPENDIUM VOLUME 3, RESTRICTED MATERIALS AND PERMITTING, APPENDIX

This letter announces reformatting of the appendices in Volume 3, Restricted Materials and Permitting, one of eight volumes of the Pesticide Use Enforcement Program Standards Compendium.

Previously, the recommended permit conditions were located in Appendix C. They are now separated into individual appendices, as listed below. This enables incorporation of updates, such as to Chloropicrin and MITC (which will be available soon in Spring 2015), to the manual without disrupting the pagination. Subject matter will be easier to locate and update.

The Volume 3 appendix is reorganized as follows:

  • Appendix A - Glossary
  • Appendix B - California Restricted Materials Requirements (quick look-up charts)
  • Appendix C - General Drift Minimization
  • Appendix D - Recommended Permit Conditions for Rice Pesticides
  • Appendix E - Ground Water Protection Approved Alternative Management Practices
  • Appendix F - Tribufos (DEF, Folex) Recommended Permit Conditions
  • Appendix G - Commodity Fumigation
  • Appendix H - Aluminum and Magnesium Phosphide for Burrowing Rodent Control Recommended Permit Conditions
  • Appendix I - Methyl Bromide Recommended Permit Conditions for Soil Fumigation within a Greenhouse
  • Appendix J - 1,3-Dichloropropene Pesticides (Field Fumigant) Recommended Permit Conditions
  • Appendix K - Chloropicrin and Chloropicrin with 1,3-D (Field Fumigant) Recommended Permit Conditions - NOTE: These permit conditions were last revised in July 2013; revised recommended permit conditions will be available soon in Spring 2015.
  • Appendix L - Metam Sodium, Metam Potassium, and Dazomet Field Soil Fumigation Recommended Permit Conditions - NOTE: These permit conditions were distributed in October 2010; revised recommended permit conditions will be available soon in Spring 2015.
  • Appendix M - Methyl Bromide Field Fumigation Recommended Permit Conditions
  • Appendix N - Volatile Organic Compounds
  • Table of Contents
    • Updated
  • Chapter 1, California's Restricted Materials Permitting Program
    • Changed reference from "Appendix D" to "Chapter 3"
  • Chapter 3, Environmental Impact Report Functional Equivalency
    • Previous Appendix D, Environmental Impact Report Functional Equivalency, merged into Chapter 3
  • Chapter 8, (Pre-Application) Site Evaluations
    • On page 8-1, changed reference from "Appendix D" to "Chapter 3"

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will complete the reorganization of Volume 3 by issuing the "second printing" of the Restricted Materials and Permitting manual on compact disc (CD). DPR will distribute a CD to each of the County Agricultural Commissioner offices later this year. Note that most revision dates prior to 2015 will be removed from the completed manual.

If you have any questions, please contact the Enforcement Branch Liaison assigned to your county.

Sincerely,
