Ground Water Protection Area Shapefiles

Back to Location of Ground Water Protection Areas

A ground water protection area (GWPA) is defined as an area of land that is vulnerable to the movement of pesticides to ground water according to either leaching or runoff processes. The table below provides links to download shapefiles for those counties that have one or more GWPAs. (Counties not listed have no GWPAs.)

Click on county name to download shapefile

The self-extracting zip file for each county includes seven files that comprise the shapefile and readme files (html and text formats) that describe the preparation, data, and projection of the shapefile. After selecting the county to download you will be given the choice to save and/or open the files to your computer. Selecting "open" will run the self-extracting zip file and give you the option to place the files in the directory of your choice. Selecting "save" will give you the option to save these files to a directory of your choice and unzip at a later time.
