Regulations to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from pesticides affect five “nonattainment areas” (NAAs) that do not meet federal air quality standards for pesticide VOC emissions: the San Joaquin Valley NAA, Sacramento Metro NAA, South Coast NAA, Southeast Desert NAA, and Ventura NAA.

Sacramento Metro nonattainment area (NAA)

  • All of these counties: Sacramento, Yolo.

San Joaquin Valley NAA

  • All of these counties: Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare
  • Parts of this county:

Southeast Desert NAA

  • Parts of these counties:

South Coast NAA

  • All of this county: Orange.
  • Parts of these counties:

Ventura NAA

  • All of Ventura County.
