Additional Border Project Activities
Back to U.S. - Mexico Border Project
Additional border project activities involving DPR include:
- Bi-national Pesticide Reporting System – DPR and Mexican authorities are developing a reporting system for notifying appropriate agencies when workers or the public are injured because of pesticide exposure.
- California/Baja California Waste and Enforcement Task Force – DPR staff attend meetings with U.S., California, and Mexican environmental agencies to discuss ongoing environmental cases related to environmental protection along the U.S./Mexico Border.
- Farm worker health fairs – DPR staff attend farm worker health fairs to provide information to farm workers and their families on pesticides and pesticide safety.
- U.S. - Mexico Border 2012 Program – DPR helps train
Mexican employers on the safe use of pesticides. This type of outreach helps California reach several
objectives of Border 2012.
