DPR Opens Public Comment Following Inaugural Meeting of Sustainable Pest Management Advisory Committee

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) today opened a public comment period following the first meeting of its new Sustainable Pest Management (SPM) Advisory Committee, held June 15, 2026. The comment period runs from June 15 through June 30, 2026.

The newly established, limited-term committee advises DPR on the goals, tactics, policies, and partnerships that support the implementation of SPM statewide. Meeting quarterly over three years, the committee will examine barriers and opportunities for SPM adoption across California and help inform DPR’s efforts to foster pest management approaches that promote human health and safety, ecosystem resilience, agricultural sustainability, community wellbeing, and economic vitality.

The committee’s first meeting addressed items including resource development and the SPM incentives landscape.

A video recording of the meeting will be available.
