February 23, 2004   ENF 2004-004

TO:
County Agricultural Commissioners
SUBJECT:

DEPARTMENT OF PESTICIDE REGULATION´S ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FUNCTIONAL EQUIVALENCY

The Department of Pesticide Regulation has recognized the need to provide training to the county agricultural commissioners on the history, goals, and process required to conform to the Environmental Impact Report functional equivalency certification under which we operate our pesticide registration and restricted materials permit programs. With the current budget situation, it is unlikely that the Department of Pesticide Regulation will be able to provide this training in the foreseeable future. In the interim, we are providing you the enclosed information and hope you find it useful.

If you have any questions about the subject, please contact the Enforcement Branch Liaison assigned to your county.

Sincerely,
