DPR ONLINE BULLETIN

This informal, online bulletin from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) appears periodically. Our goal is to keep interested parties up to date on practical information, regulatory developments and other announcements.

TINA ANDOLINA APPOINTED DPR DIRECTOR OF LEGISLATION AND REGULATION
Congratulations and welcome to Tina Andolina, who was appointed director of legislation and regulation by Gov. Brown. Andolina comes to DPR from the Legislature, where she served as legislative consultant for Sen. Lois Wolk beginning in 2010 and was legislative director at the Planning and Conservation League from 2007 to 2010. She also served as campaign associate at the Coalition for Clean Air from 2005 to 2007, outreach director at the California Wilderness Coalition from 2000 to 2005 and campaign director at the Friends of the Trinity River from 1997 to 2000.

BROWN BAG LUNCH PRESENTATION IN SACRAMENTO ON SUSTAINABLE WINEGROWING
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, representatives of Lodi Winegrape Growers will discuss how they launched third-party certifications to ensure sustainable practices.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR SCHOOL IPM WORKSHOPS
Workshops are scheduled in Canyon Country, Los Angeles County (Oct 3); Antioch, Contra Costa County (March 1); Brawley, Imperial County (April 4); and Templeton, San Luis Obispo County (June 12). A turfgrass IPM workshop is scheduled on Nov. 19 in Davis, Yolo County.

SEMIANNUAL REPORT SUMMARIZING THE REEVALUATION STATUS OF PESTICIDE PRODUCTS
This report covers Jan. 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.

PEST MANAGEMENT RESEARCH GRANTS SOLICITATION COMING
Beginning in early October, DPR will seek proposals for research projects that will be funded through its new Pest Management Research Grant Program included in Gov. Brown's budget. A total of $500,000 will be available to develop methods for managing pests while minimizing use of traditional fumigants and other pesticides that pose potential risks to public health and the environment. Additional information about the program and solicitation process, including a press release, will be distributed in the coming weeks.
